Delegates Miller, Sumner, and Sobonya Request Accounting of All Unfilled Jobs in State Government
When taxpayers are struggling to find jobs, their tax dollars shouldn’t pay for ‘phantom jobs’ in state government say the Delegates
Charleston, WV – This week in a letter to the Governor, Delegates Carol Miller, Linda Sumner, and Kelli Sobonya requested an accounting of all unfilled jobs in state government.
“Our taxpayers’ dollars should not be held in accounts for unfilled jobs. By having an accounting of every unfilled job in state government, we can help save the taxpayers money by reducing the size of government,” said Delegate Linda Sumner. “Citizens have a right to transparency and accountability of government.”
“A recent newspaper article alerted us to the trimming of $884,000 from the budget of the Development Office by eliminating 8 unfilled positions. We want an accounting of all unfilled positions that are still funded in the budget so we can help the Governor, the Legislature, and all the state agencies make these necessary cuts to wasteful government spending,” said Delegate Kelli Sobonya. “If we can identify nearly a million dollars from just one agency, imagine the hundreds of millions dollars of revenue being squirreled other agencies within state government. We need a clean sweep”, added Sobonya.
Delegate Carol Miller concluded, “At a time when our constituents are struggling to find jobs or have seen their wages cut, their tax dollars shouldn’t be going to pay for ‘phantom jobs’ in state government. We look forward to receiving this information from the Governor’s office in a timely manner. The quicker we receive the information, the quicker we can work together to save our taxpayers money.”

Good evening. I was wondering if anyone could help me out. Like a lot of people I am unemployed. I saw an article that says I might be able to get a job that would pay $300/day with no experience as a roughneck on an oil rig. It says these jobs are plentiful. Is it true?
Here’s the article I read Ezine Articles
Thanks!
